One of the objectives pursued by the Calvià Town Hall is to try and promote actions which allow to drive the primary economic sector of Calvià.
A formative talk was organised yesterday afternoon at the Consistory´s Plennary Room, in collaboration with the Cooperativa Pagesa de Pollença, to show the livestock farmers of Calvià, an example of organisation, taking as reference the Me de Pollença Project.
The President of the Cooperativa Pagesa de Pollença, Martí Solivelles, explained how the cooperative which he directs works, and especially the 'Me' seal of quality, which has allowed to a total of 14 livestock farmers of the municipality of Pollença, in an organised way, to sell their sheep according to the market price, throughout the whole year.
To this training action will follow others which will allow to the livestock farmers of Calvià have a wider vision of other examples of cooperative systems functioning, as well as of the commercialisation of local farm produce.
