Tha Calvià Town Hall will carry out a series of actions in terms of refurbishment works in the infrastructures of the school centres of the municipality although not being of its competence.
The Calvià Town Hall, through the IMEB (Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries) and together with the Department of Maintenance, will carry out a series of actions in terms of refurbishment works in the infrastructures of the school centres of the municipality although not being of its competence.
In order to undertake the refurbishment works the IMEB will count with an important budget increase, a 52% with regards to last year, reaching the amount of 270.000 euros. Also a contract will be offered to public tender which main aim is the complete maintenance of the school centres, with a duration of two years and for which they will assign 500.000 euros.
Some of the actions forseen in the present year are the removement of asbestos porches in the school centres replacing them for other ones accomplishing the current regulations, the elimination of sand playing areas, the installation of rubber areas and the improvement of heating systems where required. These are some of the claims made by the families and management teams in the last months.
One of the main objectives earmarked in the Government Team's agenda is the excellance in all the the public services, and of course, also in the maintenance of the school centres although it is a supramunicipal competence.
