The works, which will cost 160.000, are due to start in the forthcoming month of July finishing approximately at the end of August. The current turf of the football pitch was installed in 2003.
The Calvià Town Hall has announced this morning the replacement of the turf of the Es Mofarés municipal football pitch in which the C.D.Calvià plays its football matches. The event, which has taken place in said sport facility has been attended by the Deputy Mayor for Sport, Enrique Ortega, the councillor of Calvià Village, Jaume Bestard, together with the President of the C.D. Calvià, Juan Manuel Sogorb, and the manager Juan Capllonch.
The installation of the new turf is expected to start in the month of July with the intention of having it finished in August, date when the pre-season begins. The cost of the works ascends to 160.000€.
The current artificial turf was installed in 2003 and, as a consequence of its deterioration over the years, the Technical Experts in Sports have assessed the Calvià municipal football pitch as the one more in need of a turf replacement.
The replacement of the turf in Es Mofarés is part of the projects which define the programme of refurbishment of the infrastructures of Calvià for the present year and which implies the update of the municipal premises. Thus, the repairments of the Es Capdellà swimming-pool perimeter area; the removal of the cover of the Galatzó Sports Hall; the clean up and painting of the Magaluf Sports Centre's stands metallic structure and the building of a children's 3x3 football pitch in El Toro will take place during the course of 2014.
