The Councillors for Calvià Village, Miguel Bonet and Jaime Bestard, accompanied by the Mayor, Manuel Onieva, and the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Enrique Ortega, attended the reopening of Sa Societat as a sociocultural space after remaining closed for two months for its set up.
At the "new" Sa Societat, which opens its doors from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday to Sunday, there will be the availability of a television, the daily press and a wifi zone with computers for the use of totally free of charge apart from self-service vending machines dispensing coffee, soft-drinks and snacks at reasonable prices.
The upper floor is available for both neighborhood associations in the village, such as the Asociación de Vecinos de Calvià vila and the Asociación d´Amics Calvianers.
During the presentation to the neighbours and the media Miguel Bonet was pleased with the fact that Sa Societat has become a "social centre for all."
It is to be recalled that the building that houses Sa Societat is declared since 1938 State Property and the General Urban Planning of the Municipality does not allow the development of any concession there for the use of a bar and/or a cafeteria.
