The II Employment Launcher of Calvià promotes the Youth's labour insertion.

II Employment Launcher of Calvià.

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Director for Territorial Coordination of Fundación Telefónica, Joan Cruz; and the technical expert of the Employment Launchers' programmes in Fundación Santa María la Real, Marta Costa, have visited today the youth whom take part in the II Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship Launchers of Calvià.

The team has been working two months to reactivate their search of employment and find new labour opportunities. Distributed by departments and under a collaborative culture, 8 members have already found a job, one member has gone back to his studies to set new professional objectives and a colleague is developing her own business' idea.

The IFOC's premises held this morning the official presentation of the second Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship Launcher of Calvià, started by the Town Hall, the Fundación Santa María la Real and Fundación Telefónica, through the Young Employability programme “Todos Incluidos” (All included).

The gathering has served to make known the activities which the Launcher's 16 young people have developed in the two first months of the programme to activate their labour search with new tools and methodologies, such as coaching, emotional intelligence, communication, personal mark and new technologies.

The Launcher's coordinator, Inma Alcina, explained that since its beginning, in May, up to now, the team has developed team construction dynamics, coaching sessions, analysis of the current labour market, curriculum improvement workshops, training and simulation of job interviews, as well as first contact with companies.

The members have been established in three departments (Human Resources and Training; Events and Contacts; Marketing and Communication) and they have distributed the tasks with a common objective: help each other to reinforce abilities, improve their employability and count with new opportunities of labour insertion, either working for somebody else or promoting their own entrepreneurial idea.

First results

Fruit of this common work, 8 of the 16 colleagues have already found work in various sectors. Such as the case of Lorena López, who is now working at Palma de Mallorca airport; or the case of Ana Silleros, who has started to work in Gráficas Salas, whose manager, Miguel Ángel Salas, participated in the gathering to tell his experience, and show his gratitude to the opportunity provided by the Launcher's programme for having contacted them and favour the labour insertion.

There is another participant who has decided to go back to his studies and set new professional goals; and a colleague, Esther Ramírez, who is taking advantage of her participation in the programme to develop her own business idea, related to online sales of ecological products for open air activities: lasunbrilla.com”, stated the coordinator.

All Included

The future of our youth needs the collaboration of all in this historic moment in which the youth's unemployment is one of the main problems of our country. This is why last year we started the Programme of Young Employability“Todos Incluidos” (All Included), with the aim of empowering 5000 youths between 2014-2015 and improve their employability”, has explained the Director for Territorial Coordination of Fundación Telefónica, Joan Cruz.

We fight against the unemployment with the firm conviction that the path to follow is the cooperation of all the agents involved: the public sector, the private sector, the third sector and the main protagonists, the youth who search their future”, concluded Cruz, who was accompanied by the Director of Telefónica in Baleares, Aitor Ortega.

Calvià Town Hall's commitment

The Mayor of Calvià has assured that “Is of our interest, as IFOC and as Calvià Council, to join all those initiatives which give sense to the work we have to develop to facilitate the increase of employability of our unemployed youth and people and improve their perspectives to enter the labour market, not only training-wise -which IFOC is in charge- but also sharing experiences and synergies”.

From the new municipal government team, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal has expressed his commitment to continue supporting this initiative.
