The Majorcan triathlete Mario Mola will close his triumphant 2015 season on the 17th October in Paguera with his debut in middle distance.
The Majorcan triathlete Mario Mola will be participating in the Half distance Challenge Paguera Mallorca on the forthcoming 17th October 2015. Following proclaiming as runner up for the second consecutive time in the world triathlon series of the ITU and achieving a great victory in the last trial of the series which took place last weekend in Chicago, Mola has landed in his native island to finish the 2015 season with his debut in middle distance.
His decision to participate in Challenge Paguera Mallorca is not by pure chance, as he has strong ties with the island and especially with Calvià municipality. Trained in the youth squads of the ADA Calvià athletics club, Mario Mola soon excelled as a great athlete. His meteoric rise in triathlon has catapulted his presence on the podiums of world series trials. His good results have served to achieve two world subchampionships in the last two years (2014 and 2015).
In 2013 Mola was elected as the best sportsman of the year in Calvià and he made good use of breaks between competitions to return to Majorca to train and carry out pre-season peparation stages.
Without doubt the presence of Mario Mola in Challenge Paguera Mallorca is the best news for this trial. To be able to count on one of the world´s best triathletes in this event will certainly promote the international projection of the event.
The two last European champions and Marcel Zamora are amongst the competitors.
The debut of Mario Mola in middle distance will not prove so easy as alongside him he has some of the best European specialists in this distance. The most outstanding are:
Filip Ospaly: the actual European middle distance champion (ETU Championships Rimini 2015).
Giulio Molinari: middle distance European champion (ETU Championships Mallorca 2014).
Marcel Zamora: five times winner of the IRONMAN NIZA and five times winner of EMBRUNMAN.
