The period to present the application forms to apply for grants for transport, payment of fees, school supplies and books opens today 1st October until 14th October.

All those interested students can present their application forms as from 1st October for the extraordinary announcement of grants for university degree students of the municipality, which starts up the Calvià Town Hall, and which counts with a total baseline of 40.000 euros.

 

The recipients are students who will start or are already studying college degree studies, at the UIB, or those students who will start or are already studying -not offered at the UIB- at any Public University of other territory of the Estate. A baseline of 30.000 euros has been assigned for the first assumption, and 10.000 euros have been assigned for the second one.

 

Up to 120 youths will benefit of this extraordiary measure for the 2015-2016 school year, to defray expenses derived from transport, payment of fees, school supplies and books, with the aim of promoting the fulfilment of university studies amongst the citizens of the municipality of Calvià.

 

Thus, 4 modalities of grants have been foreseen:

  • Modality A-1: 50 scholarships have been announced for pupils who access to studies conducive to college degrees at the University of the Balearic Islands. Each grant will be awarded for an amount of 300 €.

  • Modality A-2: 50 scholarships have been announced for pupils who are taking studies conducive to college degrees at the University of the Balearic Islands. Each grant will be awarded for an amount of 300 €.

  • Modality B-1: 10 scholarships for pupils who access to studies conducive to official degrees at any Public University out of the scope of the Balearic Islands, and in the Spanish Estate. Each grant will be awarded for an amount of 500 €.

  • Modality B-2: 10 scholarships for pupils who are taking studies conducive to official degrees at any Public University out of the scope of the Balearic Islands, and in the Spanish Estate. Each grant will be awarded for an amount of 500 €.

 

These grants will be compatible with others which for the same concept could be granted by other public or private entities, and incompatible with with other programme of grants and/or economic aids announced by the Calvià Town Hall, through the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries (IMEB).
