The Calvià Town Hall's extraordinary plenary has initially approved the modification of a series of bylaws which do not represent an increase of the tax burden.
The modification of the bylaw which regulates the garbage collection and waste disposal tax has been initially approved. This will mean a 7 % reduction for bars, coffee shops, restaurants and business premises. Also, the invoice's amount has been reduced a 25% for supermarkets.
All this comes motivated by the strong tax burden which they have been submitted to throughout these last 4 years. This reduction comes motivated because in the last legislature the tax rate for supermarkets was increased 150%.
The government team is aware of the situation and the necessity of supporting the associated offer, specially those who more have suffered the economic crisis such as bars, restaurants and coffee shops.
Also, the plenary approved the modification of the bylaw which regulates the property tax, the IBI. Modifications in the tax rate are not expected for the 2016 tax year and the existing reductions will be maintained.
This means that there will be no increase for the 71 % of the invoices to be issued. Furthermore, only the 8 % of the properties will see a 2 % increase in their invoices.
Finally, an extension of the discount application deadline has been initially approved for large families, ableing to request it throughout the year.
