Amongst the activities planned to celebrate Book's Day in Calvià, on Saturday 23rd April at the Passeig del Mar in Palmanova, there will be activities for everyone between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.: bookstore, book exchange, rose sale, Abade association stalls as well as 'Scrabble' games, Cervantes vs. Shakespeare duels and craft workshops for children, youths and adults.


There will also be a Bibliotecas (Municipal Libraries) stall with an exhibition in tribute to Ramon Llull and a Book's Day workshop, and a representation of the departments of Culture, Youth and the School of Adults of the Town Hall.


A reading of the book 'Crida ben Fort, Estela!' will take place at 12.15 p.m. It is a prevention of child sexual abuse storytale in which the author, Isabel Olid, offers children a tool to teach them how to be respected.

 

Throughout the day, there will be several mini-circus shows of the Circ Bover aimed at adults and children with magic performances with books, juggling, clowns and experiments.

Furthermore, a reading of the book 'Llibre de les besties' by Ramon Llull took place today Friday at the IES Bendinat, an act which was attended by the Mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés; and the Councillor for Social Services, Mayte Albertí.
