More than 1.400 students have participated this year in the Summer Schools of Calvià

MORE THAN 1.400 PRE-SCHOOL AND PRIMARY EDUCATION PUPILS HAVE PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR IN THE SUMMER SCHOOLS OF CALVIÀ FOR WHICH HAVE BEEN INVESTED 95.000 EUROS
20.000 euros have been earmarked to subsidise monitors for children with special needs
The Summer Schools of Calvià have closed its doors with the grand finale party which has been held at the Athletics Track and at the Magaluf Sports Centre.
Participation records have been broken this year as 1.454 pre-school and primary education pupils have taken part in the classrooms during the months of July and August.
The Calvià Town Hall, through the IMEB (the Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries) has allocated 95.000 euros for the implementation of these classrooms, of which 20.000 euros have been allocated to subsidise monitors for children with special needs who have been integrated in the groups.
During the party, the children have enjoyed various activities such as popular games, Spartan games, track circuits, or bridges and giant aquatic balloons, amongst others, which have been distributed in three different scenarios: the athlectics track of Calvià (Magaluf), and the swimming-pool and football pitch of the Magaluf Sports Centre.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, attended the event, along with the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, and the Councillors Antonio García Moles, Juan Cuadros, Alfonso Molina and Fernando Alcaraz.
This year, all the school centres of the municipality have had the option to organise Summer Schools. The participating centres are: Jaume I, Puig de sa Ginesta, ses Rotes Velles, Bendinat, Son Ferrer, Puig de sa Morisca, Galatzó, Xaloc, Cas Saboners and Son Caliu, as well as the Athletics Track Campus.
