Calvià Town Hall will contract 22 unemployed people to improve the employment of older workers

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL CONTRACT 22 UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE "VISIBLES" PROGRAMME FOR IMPROVING THE OCCUPATION OF OLDER WORKERS
Calvià Town Hall, through the "Visibles" occupation programme, plans, as of 16th November, the hiring for six months of 21 over 35 workers full-time and an advisor part-time to support the project.
This programme has a total cost of 419.977,70 euros, of which 235.800 euros come from the participation of the Occupation Service of the Balearic Islands (SOIB) and the co-financing of the State Public Occupation Service (SEPE) and the European Social Fund (ESF), and the rest, 184.177,70 euros correspond to municipal financing.
This action makes it easier for local entities (including their municipal companies and autonomous bodies) to hire workers over 35 years of age (prioritising those over 45 years of age who have been unemployed for at least 12 months within the last year and a half, and who do not benefit of any compensation or allowance.
The actions recently approved by the SOIB are organised into 3 projects:
CALVIÀ 2000: IMAGE ADAPTATION IN WASTE PAPER BASKETS AND CONTAINERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALVIÀ.
It is a project based on public awareness regarding the correct management of waste in the public way.
SENIOR CITIZENS HOME OF CALVIÀ: MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT ACTIONS IN THE SENIOR CITIZENS HOME OF CALVIÀ
It is a project that reflects the intention of its management team to invest decisively in the improvement and enhancement of this public space.
CALVIÀ TOWN HALL:
It presents, through the IFOC, a global project called CALVIÀ INTEGRA, in which several municipal areas are integrated:
MAINTENANCE:
Remodeling and extension of the gardened areas of Calvià promenade.
Maintenance of pre-school and primary education centres and municipal nurseries, in collaboration with the IMEB.
CULTURE:
Maintenance and improvement of the municipal scenic spaces and cultural centres.
NATURAL AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT:
Maintenance and improvement of the Galatzó public estate.
CALVIÀ SPORTS INSTITUTE:
Reconditioning of the municipal sports facilities gardened areas.
YOUTH:
Improvement and maintenance of the youth equipment "Es Generador"
IFOC:
Improvement of vocational training centres for the occupation of Calvià.
At present, the SOIB and the IFOC (Training and Employment Instituteof Calvià), in collaboration with the other areas and municipal companies, are taking the steps that will allow the selection and hiring of workers, scheduled for next November.
In this sense, it is important the involvement of the SOCIAL SERVICES department in the tasks of information and referral of people with social vulnerability of the municipality so that they can participate in these programmes.
Once these projects are completed, the IFOC will offer the necessary resources to promote the employability of these workers, amongst them the Municipal Employment Agency and the advice, entrepreneur and training Service.
