Chronicle of the 21-km race (half marathon)
Undisputed victories of Mohamed Bouccetta (Club Atletismo Playa of Castellón) and Gemma
Llabrés (AE Entrenamiento global).
In the men's category, the Spanish athlete Mohamed Bouccetta (1:08:32) started off with the clear idea of repeating his victory but this time avoiding the competition's setbacks of the previous year. For that reason, he marked an intense rhythm from the beginning that soon distanced him from all his pursuers.
In second position the athlete Samir Ait Bouychamane (La Sansi) (1:11:02) could not keep the pace of Mohamed Boucceta and chose to race by distancing from his immediate pursuer, Briton Charlton Debono (Gozo Athletix AC) (1: 12: 38), in the end, third classified.
In the women's category, the Mallorcan Gemma Llabrés (AE Entrenamiento Global) quickly marked distances with her pursuers and arrived at the finish line with a time of 1:22:50.
The great duel took place to define the 2nd and the 3rd place that was decided practically at the sprint between Caitlin Bradley, 2nd classified (1:36:49), followed by Katja Zwiker (Olg Galgenen) (1:36:55) in 3rd position.
