The Town Hall's Tourism General Director, Carmen Peñas, participates in the IGTM, the most important meeting worldwide on golf and tourism
The Town Hall sets the objective of recovering the golf tourism in Calvià
Calvià Town Hall is present, from this Monday until next Thursday, at the IGTM fair in Lisbon - International Golf Travel Market -, the most important annual event on golf and tourism. The General Director of Tourism, Carmen Peñas, represents the Town Hall at a fair that brings together the entire community of golf professionals, who have in this meeting in the Portuguese capital a "highly focused and profitable way to establish contacts and grow their business".
The objective of attending this fair is to reposition Calvià as a golf destination amongst the B2B segment, since golfers travel in mid- and low-season months and it is an important niche to reduce the seasonality curve.
The agenda includes 42 meetings with some of the 246 specialised agencies that are meeting in Lisbon these days and that come from markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Scandinavia, Belgium or the United States, amongst others. The Town Hall's will is to recover this important tourist segment within a strategy that allows reducing the seasonality curve.
