Deputy Major Teresa Martorell awarded 12 grants for first time buyers on Monday 12th March,a cost of 30.000 euros, plus 5 for the reconditioning and refurbishing of homes reaching a total cost of 15.214 Euros.
This assistance forms part of the plan for the buying of and refurbishing of homes which is being carried out by Calvià Town hall.
The grants awarded total some 1.5 million Euros and have been approved by the Government team headed up by Major Carlos Delgado.
The assistance programme for first time buyers started up in Calvià in 1998 with the objective of facilitating Calvià residents to buy homes with some financial help. The assistance plan for refurbishment of homes started up in 2002 and aims at upgrading homes in the interior and exterior as well as communal areas.
