  • The walk to meet Calvià's farmers will take place on Saturday 5th April, the weekend before the fair

Activities programme

Calvià village will once again host the traditional Fira d'Oví i Caprí on 12th and 13th April. In its 25th edition, the fair once again showcases the area's livestock and rural heritage with a complete programme of activities for everyone. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of proposals that combine tradition, gastronomy, culture and entertainment.

Walk to discover Calvià farmers' traditions

The programme of activities will kick off on Saturday 5t April, with the third edition of the walk to meet local farmers and stockbreeders. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in the subject to learn firsthand about the municipality's agricultural activity. This year, the fair will visit Es Pontet, Es Sementer de Sa Teulera and Son Alfonso.

This activity allows different-profile farmers to share, on their farms, their work and motivations, as well as answer questions posed by attendees. The walk helps to showcase the professional and personal side of people with a lifestyle deeply connected to both, land and animals.

Throughout the week leading up to the fair, various activities related to the countryside will take place. There will be special training for the livestock sector and a meeting with farmers and stockbreeders at the Town Hall so that the municipality's rural sector can share their concerns and needs.

Fair's Weekend

On Saturday, 12th April, you can enjoy, amongst other things, the artisan and agricultural market, the sheep and goat exhibition, the shepherd dog exhibition and competition, and the grand popular lamb roast in Plaça de les Collidores d’Oliva square. The day will also feature musical performances and activities for the whole family.

On Sunday, 13th April, the spotlight will be on the tractor and agricultural machinery exhibition, the sheep and goat morphology competition, the shearing exhibition, the xeremiers, caparrots, and gegants (bagpipers, big-heads and giants) parade and the birds of prey exhibition, amongst other proposals. Bars and restaurants will also join in the celebration with a special culinary offer based on local cuisine and the Fair's theme.

The Fira d'Oví i Caprí de Calvià is much more than a livestock event: it is a tribute to the municipality's rural identity, a meeting point for professionals of the sector, and a celebration for all who wish to experience the essence of Calvià.
