CALVIÀ CELEBRATES THE EURO CUP FINAL WITHOUT INCIDENTS IN MAGALUF THANKS TO BOTH, POLICE COORDINATION AND BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITY

Good behaviour of fans in the streets and terraces of Magaluf

The Euro Cup final in Magaluf took place without a hitch thanks to the security intensification and the good behaviour of fans. With more Calvià Local Police and the Civil Guard agents, who acted in a coordinated manner on the street, guaranteed last night the smooth celebration of the Euro Cup final. The football match between the Spanish and the English National Teams attracted a crowd of English fans to Magaluf who followed the match, especially from outdoor terraces.

The head of the Calvià Local Police, Esther Ribas, highlighted that during the Euro Cup final between Spain and England, everything went smoothly thanks to the reinforcements added to the ordinary operation and added that “the good behaviour of all those gathered” also contributed to this.

The mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, has also assessed the development of the Euro 2024 final follow-up very positively, highlighting that “once again the qualitative leap in the type of tourism that visits Magaluf has been demonstrated”. "We must also thank - he added - the joint effort of both, the security forces and the collaboration of the local business community, which has followed and rigorously enforced the regulations. “Jointly we have managed to ensure that this football final took place without incidents”.

The Calvià Local Police already warned on Friday that they were going to intensify surveillance regarding the prohibition of taking alcoholic beverages and drinking glasses onto the street, as well as the control of television screens, so that the images were only screened within establishments and not on the public way. Magaluf's tourism entrepreneurs have strictly complied with these municipal ordinances, contributing decisively to maintaining order and security during this massive event.

Furthermore, the victory of the Spanish football team was received with enthusiasm by hundreds of people who gathered in the Plaza Nueva in Son Caliu, where a giant screen was installed to enjoy the match, and who were entertained with DJ music. The initiative was promoted by the Son Caliu Neighbourhood Association and supported by Calvià Town Hall, which also installed a giant screen in Es Capdellà.
