Calvià hosts the ATP Mallorca Championships that will bring together professionals such as Nick Kyrgios, Fernando Verdasco or Feliciano López
The sporting event constitutes an important asset to stimulate the municipality's tourism industry
It will take place from 19th to 26th June in Santa Ponça
Calvià will host, from 19th to 26th June, the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships tournament that will take place at the Mallorca Lawn Tennis & Country Club facilities in Santa Ponça and will have the already confirmed presence of tennis players such as the Australian Nick Kyrgios, Feliciano López and Fernando Verdasco.
This is the first ATP 250 event to be held in Mallorca, 19 years later; the first ATP lawn tennis tournament to be held in Spain and the first lawn tennis event with night sessions.
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has expressed, in the presentation of the Mallorca Championships, the satisfaction that the celebration of this tournament represents for Calvià due to the direct impact of an event of this sporting quality in the municipality, and the indirect impact on the destination brand. A destination "that has always been committed to sport as a fundamental complement to the revitalisation of our tourism industry, especially in the middle and low season," he added.
