Rodríguez Badal received the ambassador this morning, in a meeting in which the mayor explained the importance that visitors of this nationality have for the municipality, which account for 45% of the more than 9 million overnight stays per year, in normal seasons. In addition, the mayor thanked the ambassador for the good relations that have always existed between the Town Hall and the Consulate in relation to the important colony of British residents who in Calvià account for more than 9% of the census, and also the collaboration that each year there is between both institutions to deal with drunkenness tourism.

The meeting was also attended by the first deputy mayor and spokesperson, Nati Francés; the deputy mayor for Sports and Foreign Citizenship, Eva Serra; the British vice consul, Lucy Gorman, and the Town Hall's director general for Tourism, Xavier Pascuet.
