ABOUT 50 LIFEGUARDS PREPARE FOR THE CALVIÀ BEACHES SURVEILLANCE
Before the tourist season, theoretical and practical training has been given to those responsible for the municipality's Rescue Plan
Specialists of the Calvià Local Police, the Calvià Civil Protection beach team, and a nourished team of experts have updated the theoretical and practical contents that the beach lifeguards of Calvià should know. In the training sessions held at the sala Palmanova, which started yesterday and end tomorrow, participants are updated on health protocols, communication protocols with the 112 and with the Civil Protection communications room. They have also reviewed the first aid, the planning of practices and the guidelines of the drills that will be carried out during the season, internal protocols and on specific matters such as in the presence of jellyfish. It is worth noting the specific training on assisted bathing to provide service to people with reduced mobility.
Calvià has surveillance in its 30 beaches in which 53 lifeguards ensure the people's safety who come to the coast during the beach season and, out of the main hours, beaches have reactive lifeguard service.
