Calvià, centre of the film production in the third edition of Fiction Mallorca Pitch
The meeting of professionals is based on the financing and development of projects
The third edition of Fiction Mallorca Pitch starts, which is taking place one more year in Calvià. The international meeting for fiction film production professionals once again turns the emblematic Sa Societat theatre in Calvià village into the centre of the seventh art for a few days. On this occasion, emphasis is placed on the figure of the screenwriter. The Pitch offers talks, exchanges of opinions or presentations with the aim of establishing collaborations and raise funding, as explained by the director of the event, Andreu Fullana: "we bring together professionals and creators who give life to the stories we see on the screens and we bring them together with televisions and platforms to encourage them to invest.
The deputy mayor for Culture, Manu Mas, described the meeting as “intense”: “we are sure that these days will bear fruits. It is the third year in the municipality, which confirms that we are facing a good transversal project that unites public and private initiative.
For her part, Teresa Tena, delegate councillor for Events, has pointed out the importance of working with professionals "on the other side of the screen": "it is a pride that projects that will one day be seen on the screen begin here in Calvià."
