Calvià Town Hall has set up a rental aid line for residents of the municipality for a total amount of 716.000 euros. This equalises the number of previous years. The applications demand for the 2022-2023 call did not reach the planned budget, although the current municipal government team has decided to maintain the volume of subsidies. On the other hand, an aid line of 162.820 euros is also opened for the rehabilitation of buildings and homes.

The Deputy Mayor responsible for Urban Planning and Housing, Jaime Bujosa, has expressed "the Town Hall's commitment to policies that favour access to housing": "it is an unavoidable obligation to do everything in our hand to ensure that our residents stay in Calvià. No one should be forced to leave their municipality because they cannot access housing. Many times we think of Calvià as an exclusively tourist place and that is not the case. With this aid, we revert the benefits that tourism gives us into social measures that benefit the citizen."

Bujosa has insisted on “making the lives of Calvià residents as easy as possible,” especially those who need help. We have demonstrated it with the implementation of free 0-3 education, with the upcoming VPO (subsidised housing) developments and with this rental aid line.

RENTAL

Regarding rental, an aid line has been enabled with 716.000 euros. The aid amount will be 40 percent of the maximum monthly income, if it is equal to or less than 900, with a maximum limit of 3.960 euros per year per home (for a maximum of 330 euros per month). It is granted for a maximum of twelve months from 1st September 2023 to 31st August 2024.

The aid will be calculated by taking as a reference the rental receipt amount corresponding to the monthly payment due for September 2023 or to the first monthly payment due of the rental contract if it is of a later date. Other scoring values to take into account for access to aid are those related to the total income of the cohabitation unit, the number of children under 18 years of age, people with disabilities in their care, or the cases of women victims of gender violence.

Applications must preferably be submitted electronically through the Electronic Headquarters or the State's General Administration Common Electronic Registry. The procedures can also be carried out in person at Calvià Town Hall's General Registry or at Palmanova Municipal Services Centre General Registry, submitting the application published on the website and providing the necessary documentation. A third option is to submit it in any of the places established in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015 on the Public Administrations Common Administrative Procedure. Likewise, Calvià Town Hall recalls the availability of the Digi Calvià digital Citizen Service Office service that offers telephone and telematic assistance to facilitate access to municipal procedures that can be done electronically. Interested parties have a period of one month to make the request from its publication in the BOIB.

Calvià Spanish nationality residents of legal age and foreigners who prove their legal residence in Spain can access the aid in accordance with the Organic Law 4/2000, of 11th January, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration; and Royal Decree 557/2011, of 20th April, which approves its Regulations.

RENEWALS

They will be able to access aid for the renewal of buildings and homes, both for structural elements and for the adaptation and elimination of architectural barriers. In both cases, 25 percent of the protectable budget of the works that must be implemented within a period of less than 12 months is eligible for subsidy, with the possibility of extension for a further 6 months. The aid amount for works to rehabilitate common elements will be a maximum of 9.000 euros per building and for works to eliminate architectural barriers it will be a maximum of 6.000 euros per building. In both cases, the amount paid for construction tax and fee for building license or works prior communication to be carried out, will be added to the aid.
