The Calvià Training and Employment Institute (IFOC) closed this Monday the five mixed training and employment programmes, in which a total of 59 unemployed people participated and were welcomed at the Town Hall. Thanks to the programmes, it has been possible to hire 30 young people under 30 years of age and 20 people over 30 who, with the support of 9 programme management professionals, have carried out different works and services of social interest in the municipality of Calvià.

The mixed projects are programmes that combine real work and theoretical-practical training, within the framework of the training and learning contract. Its purpose is to improve the employability of participating people, through the acquisition of new professional skills. For this reason, in addition to obtaining professionalism certificates and one-year work experience, an individualised insertion itinerary is also made for each student worker. They have a duration of 1.680 hours, and allow the hiring for 12 months of 30 unemployed young people, under 30 years of age, registered in the national Youth Guarantee system, 20 unemployed people over 30 years of age and 9 project management professionals, registered in the SOIB.

The mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, has valued the collaboration of the IFOC, the SOIB and the Government of the Balearic Islands, while encouraging the participants to start a new stage of their lives in the municipality: «Calvià is a municipality of prosperity and we all want it to remain that way, no one has to leave to search for work, or to buy a house, or to create a family. You are more than residents, this is and should be your home. Working in this Calvià goes beyond playing a job role. It means contributing to the development and prosperity of our municipality. “Each of you play a crucial role in building and maintaining our society.”

The programme has developed practical work and certified training in subjects such as mountain guiding, physical conditioning and lifeguard studies, forestry, gardening and administrative activities in customer relationships.
