Calvià prepares a Christmas full of events

The holidays come to the municipality with multiple activities and fun for the whole family

For the forthcoming Christmas holidays, the Town Hall has organised various activities and events to share and spend some lovely days with friends and family.

The Christmas lights will illuminate a municipality where in the coming weeks Christmas markets, activities and fairs will take place in the different population centres.

This year, as a novelty, there will be traveling royal pages throughout all areas of the municipality, where they will collect letters to the Three Wise Men. In addition, the streets, squares and markets will be filled with Christmas music and singing Christmas carols throughout the Holidays.

On Sunday 10th the traditional Nadal Market will take place in Santa Ponça. It will be the starting signal for almost a month of Christmas celebrations.

Parc de Nadal
Calvià's Christmas playground, Parc de Nadal, opens its doors from 27th to 30th December in the Galatzó pavilion so that the children of the house can enjoy a few days of fun with the whole family.

Parc de Nadal is a special Christmas event for children and includes a wide variety of games, attractions, crafts, musical performances and children's activities. In addition, outside the venue, located in Paquita Revert square, a special marquee will be set up also dedicated to the little ones.

Admission costs 2 euros per person per day, but there is a family ticket for 6 euros per day that is valid for an entire family. The proceeds from Parc de Nadal have a solidarity component, and this year they will go to the social entity ‘Es Capdellà sonríe y ayuda’.

The hours on Wednesday, 27th December will be from 4 to 8 p.m., while on 28th , 29th and 30th December it will open its doors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m.

The special performances scheduled are the following:
- Wednesday 27th, opening performance
- Thursday 28th, at 11 a.m. Spaguetti Punki and at 5 p.m., Christmas Monster Show
- Friday 29th at 12 noon Circo Strómboli, and at 6 pm 'Colla de Pirates'
- Saturday 30th at 5 p.m. magic performance by Alessio Paoletti.
There will also be a workshop organised by the Puig de Sa Morisca Archaeological Park to discover prehistory in a fun way.

New Years' Eve
The New Year's Eve party will take place this year at the Galatzó Pavilion. It will begin at 00:30 a.m. and will continue throughout the early hours of the morning. On the last night of the year we can listen to everything from commercial "remember" music from the 80s and 90s to reggaeton, and other musical styles. There will also be a photocall and a state-of-the-art 360 camera to immortalise the moment, with a donation of 1 euro that will go to a social entity. As a novelty, the Town Hall will enable shuttle buses to facilitate transportation for residents.

The consistory wants to remember the importance of responsible consumption of alcohol, since it poses a health risk, which is why it is prohibited for minors. Documentation will be requested at the entrance, and those over 18 years of age will receive a bracelet to prove their age of majority. Likewise, neighbours are also asked to enjoy the party, trying not to disturb others or dirty the spaces in which they have fun.

Three Kings' Parade
As a final culmination of the Christmas festivities, on 5th January the arrival of their majesties the Three Wise Men to Palmanova will take place. The magic and illusion of Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar will return to the streets of our municipality.

As it is tradition, they will arrive by boat at the port of Palmanova around 6 p.m. and from there they will travel along the Passeig de la Mar accompanied by a colourful floats' parade.

Their majesties will greet the attendees and delight the children of Calvià in a very special party, leaving fond moments to remember during their visit to the town. There will be candies for the good children and coal for the bad ones.
